  • Re-Accreditation of LPPOM MUI Laboratory Services with Additional Scope

The LPPOM MUI Laboratory recently succeeded in adding to the scope of Pig DNA Detection for the matrix of capsules, bones, fur/hair, and leather in the SNI ISO / IEC 17025: 2017 accreditation scheme.

The additional scope approved on November 5, 2020 is urgently needed to support the implementation of Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance (JPH Act) regarding the certification of used goods derived from animal ingredients.

Previously, the LPPOM MUI Laboratory had carried out accreditation for testing Porcine DNA detection using Real-Time PCR with the scope of meat and processed products, medicinal / pharmaceutical preparation ingredients, and seasonings with the LP-1040-IDN accreditation number.

Then, on 7-8 November 2018, the LPPOM MUI Laboratory managed to maintain the accreditation certificate through the second surveillance and adjustment to the latest SNI ISO / IEC 17025: 2017. This is in accordance with the latest technological developments and digitization in the laboratory field, including the addition of a risk management clause. to identify risks in laboratory services.

This additional scope is proof of the strengthening of LPPOM MUI services within the laboratory scope. This is an integral part of the LPPOM MUI halal certification service, which quality is constantly being improved.

“The laboratory has an important role in the success of the halal certification process, especially in terms of analyzing products with animal ingredients. The results of the lab analysis are used as supporting documents for fatwa decisions and are not halal certificates. The fatwa decision is supported by the Halal Assurance System (SJH) criteria of all material documents and production facilities, ”explained Heryani, S.Si., Laboratory Manager of LPPOM MUI.

The LPPOM MUI Laboratory offers analysis and research development services to detect non-halal materials commonly found in everyday life and also analyzes related to the fulfillment of SNI.
