Bogor – The Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs, and Cosmetics of the Indonesian Council of Ulama (LPPOM MUI) again took concrete action against COVID-19. LPPOM MUI rose funds from March 27 to April 10 2020.
After previously providing masks and hand sanitizers for health workers, now directors, managers, staff, and auditors of LPPOM MUI are raising funds. This is an obvious form of LPPOM MUI’s contribution in fighting COVID-19. The total funds collected amount is Rp79,545,445 from 89 donors.

The funds are allocated for two main priority programs, namely the procurement of personal protective equipment (APD) for health workers and free food for communities with pandemic affected economies. With these two programs, LPPOM MUI channeled these humanitarian funds to two philanthropic institutions.
First, to the humanitarian organization Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) in the amount of Rp.50,000,000 with details of the use of Rp30,000,000 for the procurement of APD for medical workers and Rp20,000,000 for food aid to communities with epidemic-affected economies.
Secondly, the Islamic Da’wah Fund of the Indonesian Ulema Council (IDF MUI) amounting to Rp29,545,445. All funds provided are used for food aid for people affected by the plague.
