Against COVID-19, LPPOM MUI Runs Various Program of CSR

Bogor – The Assessment Intitute for Foods, Drugs, and Cosmetics Indonesian Council of Ulama (LPPOM MUI) continues to commit in giving the best to the people. Not only by halal certification, LPPOM MUI extended family also shows their commitment by various humanitarion actions.

It is undeniable that the 2019 Corona Virus Disease pandemic (COVID-19) caught the attention of the world, including Indonesia. Various sectors were affected by the presence of this pandemic, ranging from social, health, to the economy. Needed a helping hand from various parties to rise and fight COVID-19.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, LPPOM MUI specifically forms various corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs to fight COVID-19. Some of these humanitarian programs include the distributing of masks and hand sanitizers for health workers and fundraising from the internal LPPOM MUI.

It is not only in the main office, LPPOM MUI in other provinces also participate to provide humanitarian aids to the health workers and people with the economy affected by plague.

LPPOM MUI Riau Islands (Kepri) gives the grocery aids for the economy affected communities. Other aids, hazmat (medical clothing) is given by LPPOM MUI Special Region of Yogyakarta to the health workers. Then, LPPOM MUI Belitung Islands (Kep. Babel) gives masks and hand sanitizers to the street sellers and drivers. 

According to the Board of Directors of LPPOM MUI, this is a form of support and caring the LPPOM MUI extended family to the health workers who continue to fight at the forefront in against COVID-19 and people with the economy affected by plague.

Furthermore, he said, this humanitarian action is one of the solutions that could be done to fight COVID-19. This humanitarian action is expected to ease the burden on health workers and the community in facing this pandemic. (*)
