Being the first halal inspection agency that has been in existence for 32 years, the Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs and Cosmetics Indonesian Council of Ulama (LPPOM) has established itself as a Halal Inspection Agency that is “the leader in Halal Guarantee Solutions”.
On one occasion, Executive Director of LPPOM MUI, Ir. Muti Arintawati, M.Si. conveyed the two main missions of LPPOM MUI. With this mission, LPPOM MUI is ready with strategic programs that have been prepared for the advancement of the halal world in the country and internationally.
First, LPPOM MUI provides inspection and testing services for international standard halal products that provide added value to the business world and other stakeholders through superior services, mutually beneficial partnership relationships, highly competent human resources and continuous innovation.
In this case, LPPOM MUI has received SNI ISO / IEC 17065: 2012 accreditation and has a total scope of accreditation of 15 categories based on the UAE 2055: 2-2016 standard. This can be an added value for halal industry players to compete in the global arena.
In addition, the LPPOM MUI Laboratory has also received SNI ISO / IEC 17025: 2017 accreditation. This is proof that LPPOM MUI is ready to face challenges from all aspects, including in the scope of halal laboratory services whose quality is always maintained.

Second, LPPOM MUI continues to develop Halal Certification Standards which are the reference for the national and international halal communities. This can be seen from the halal certification standard of LPPOM MUI which has become a reference for 45 Overseas Halal Certification Bodies from 26 countries.
In addition, LPPOM MUI has also joined the World Halal Food Council (WHFC), which is the gathering place for halal certification bodies from various certification bodies in the world that was founded in 1999 in Jakarta.
