Amid the changes to the regulatory system that is being prepared, the government must synergize more productively with many parties, in particular the Halal Inspection Body (LPH) of the Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs, and Cosmetics of the Indonesian Council of Ulama (LPPOM MUI). 

This was conveyed by the caretaker of the Head of Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH), Dr. Mastuki, M.Ag in the Closing Ceremony of LPPOM MUI 1442 H Syawal Festival that was held some time ago virtually.

Mastuki expressed his gratitude for the good cooperation that has taken place over the last few years between LPH LPPOM MUI and BPJPH, especially concerning efforts to accelerate Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK) in halal certification. He also appreciated the UMK caring program which was carried out by LPH LPPOM MUI through the LPPOM MUI Syawal Festival 1442 H. 

“We congratulate LPH LPPOM MUI for successfully holding the LPPOM MUI 1442 H Syawal Festival. Hopefully, this program can be implemented for years to come. We will continue to encourage all of the halal certification facilitation programs for SMEs. To achieve an easy and reliable certification, together, let’s make it happen,” explained Mastuki.

Previously, in 2020, LPH LPPOM MUI collaborated with BPJPH to facilitate SMEs. Due to the good and productive synergy between LPH LPPOM MUI and BPJPH, in about 1.5 months, a total of 3,251 SMEs can be facilitated until the issuance of halal certificates. 

In his remarks, Mastuki appealed to every stakeholder to continue to collaborate and synergize to achieve an easy and reliable halal certification. He is optimistic that the goal of accelerating halal certification for SMEs in Indonesia can be realized immediately. 

“Ongoing Communications can continue to be developed. What is currently being done by LPPOM MUI for SMEs, absolutely, for the sake of the organizers of Halal Product Assurance (JPH) can be performed, so that the strengthening of the halal ecosystem is a shared goal can be realized,” he said. (YN)
