  • Appreciation of Strategic Partners, LPPOM MUI Holds Halal Award 2023

The Index Top Halal Survey, 2022 of 1,300 responses, shows that halal is included in the top 3 factors determining the shopping choice for a product. Not surprisingly, many companies are trying to present their products as the first and the best in implementing the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH). To appreciate this, LPPOM MUI is holding a Halal Award, which all clients of halal-certified companies can participate in to demonstrate the superiority of implementing the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH)—the President Director of LPPOM MUI, Ir. Muti Arintawati, M.Si., conveyed this at the LPPOM MUI Coffee Break event themed, “Recalibration of Strategies in the Application of Halal Certification in the Post-Pandemic Era,” which was held by LPPOM MUI on June 12, 2023.

“We thank the companies that have become partners of LPPOM MUI. LPPOM MUI has been established for 34 years, and we have served over 50,000 companies, from SMEs to multi-national companies. We always listen to input and complaints from our partners so that the service can be better with an easy and fast process. Hopefully, this will increase the company’s competitiveness,” said Muti.

The launch of the “LPPOM MUI Halal Award 2023” program is expected to improve the image of LPPOM MUI partner companies among consumers so that they can compete at the national and global levels. All LPPOM MUI partner companies can participate in this program by expanding the competition category to increase the opportunities for LPPOM MUI partners to win awards.

This year, LPPOM MUI issued seven categories of nominations for the Halal Award, including:

1.    Best Halal System Implementation

2.   Best New-Comer

3.   Long Live Achievement

4.   Fastest Growth on Halal Products

5.   Favorite Halal Brand

6.   Best Social Contribution to Halal Ecosystem

7.   SME Halal Promising

Determination of nominations is carried out by an independent assessment committee that prioritizes the principles of objectivity and supportively free of charge. Companies are expected to continue to be motivated in implementing SJPH by prioritizing optimal implementation and continuous system improvement. In addition, this program is an educational event for the public regarding the quality of SJPH implementation of the products purchased. Interestingly, the Top Halal Index 2022 survey shows that 68% of consumers are willing to pay more for products with halal certificates. Seeing this trend, since the beginning of the LPPOM MUI Halal Award, various favorite brands have been competing to enter and win the Favorite Halal Brand nomination.
