A well-known coffee brand, Janji Jiwa, has successfully bagged a halal certificate on December 22, 2021. The ceremonial handover of halal certificates from the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) and the Food, Medicines, and Cosmetics Assessment Institute of the Indonesian Ulema Council (LPPOM MUI) as the Halal Inspection Agency (LPH) to Jiwa Group was carried out on March 10, 2022 at one of the Janji Jiwa outlets, Kemang 10, South Jakarta.

In the event, the Head of the BPJPH Halal Registration and Certification Center, Dr. H. Mastuki, M.Ag, handed over a halal certificate for Jiwa Group followed by the submission of the Halal Assurance System Status (SJH) from the President Director of LPPOM MUI, Ir. Muti Arintawati, M.Si. This certificate was received directly by Billy Kurniawan as CEO and Founder of Jiwa Group.

Muti said that Jiwa Group managed to get a very good score on SJH Status. This is inseparable from a series of audit processes that have been carried out very well by Jiwa Group in 2021.

The value is obtained from the fulfillment of excellent SJH criteria, such as halal policies, halal management teams, training, materials, products, production facilities, written procedures for critical activities, searchability, handling products that do not meet the criteria, internal audits, and management reviews.

"This halal certificate is not the end of the process, it is precisely the beginning of a long process in the future. We believe that this commitment starts from Jiwa Group must fulfill the rights of Muslim consumers to get halal products. Of course, this halal product cannot be proven alone, but by a third party," explained Muti.

On this occasion, Mastuki said that strengthening halal products is one of the important pillars in food and beverage marketing in Indonesia. This halal certificate is a form of company compliance with the Halal Product Guarantee regulations. "Nowadays, halal has become a culture and lifestyle in the community. Directly, this makes halal the reputation of a company and brand," he said.

Meanwhile, Billy Kurniawan said that the best service for consumers is one of the values carried by Jiwa Group, namely a cup for the people. His party stated that halal certificates are a tangible form of this value.

"During the halal certification process, we did a lot of self-improvement. After going through a gradual process, we finally got this halal certificate. Hopefully with this, Jiwa Group can provide a sense of security and comfort for all customers who enjoy our products," said Billy.

In addition to Janji Jiwa Coffee, other brands that are also under the auspices of The Soul Group are Jiwa Toast and Jiwa Tea. Until now, Kopi Janji Jiwa has had more than 900 outlets and Jiwa Toast already has more than 300 outlets spread throughout Indonesia. Meanwhile, Jiwa Tea is a new brand whose outlets are currently spread across 10 cities in Indonesia. (YN)
