Jakarta – The Assessment Institution of Foods, Drugs, and Cosmetics of Indonesian Council of Ulama (LPPOM MUI) attended the Thanksgiving and Handing Over Halal Certificate. Held by PT Nippon Shokubai Indonesia (NSI) on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at RM. Sari Kuning Cilegon. The halal certificate was given by the Head of LPPOM MUI Halal Socialization and Education Lia Amalia, ST., SSi., ST to PT Nippon Shokubai Indonesia President Director Hisakazu Fujita.

Lia appreciated the NSI, who had pocketed a halal certificate and implementation status of the Halal Assurance System (HAS) with grade A. “This is not an easy thing, especially in just a period of three months. Congratulations to PT Nippon Shokubai Indonesia, especially the Halal Management Team,” she said.

Hisakazu recognized this. Even though NSI products are basic materials, NSI tries always to provide the best for consumers. The effort made to answer the demand for all products which expected to continue to grow in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. “Finally, we can get a halal certificate. Very good job,” he said.

This halal certificate is for raw materials of Acrylic Acid (AA), acrylates (AES), and super absorbent polymer (SAP). AA and AES are the primary raw materials for ink, paint, adhesive, and so on. SAP used as the primary raw material for disposable diapers. Three other products that have also received halal certificates are Ethyl acrylate, Butyl acrylate, and 2-Ethylhexyl acrylate. “Among them, the global market of our superabsorbent polymers is the largest in the world today,” said Sayid Jakfar, Chair of the Halal Committee of PT Nippon Shokubai Indonesia.
