The MUI General Chairperson visited the LPPOM MUI head office to get to know more about the role and function of LPPOM as an LPH and the LPPOM MUI Laboratory.

The General Chairperson of the Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) visited the LPPOM MUI Office on April 24, 2024, at the Global Halal Centre, Bogor. This visit was done to learn more about the role and function of LPPOM as a Halal Inspection Body (LPH) and the LPPOM MUI Laboratory.

K.H. M. Anwar Iskandar said that a person’s involvement in the halal certification process of a product is an extraordinary blessing because it can be a field of charity for a person. Therefore, Kiai Anwar Iskandar reminded LPPOM personnel to always work with complete professionalism and high credibility, so that they can provide peace of mind for the people.

“In October 2024, in accordance with the mandate of Act No. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance (UU JPH), halal certification will be mandatory for all products circulating in Indonesia. This is a tough task. The presence of LPPOM greatly influences the success of the implementation of existing regulations. Hopefully, LPPOM will be given glory by Allah SWT,” said Kiai Anwar Iskandar.

On this occasion, Kiai also congratulated the Halal Inspection Body (LPH) on obtaining an accreditation certificate from the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) with the number REG RI LH A-1U11000020693124. This sparks new enthusiasm for LPPOM to continue to improve its services.

The President Director of LPPOM, Muti Arintawati, said that the visit of the MUI General Chairperson was an honor for LPPOM. As LPH, LPPOM continues to develop its programs and services so that it can continue to provide the best for business actors, especially in Indonesia, at various business scales.

“It is an extraordinary honor that Kiai Anwar Iskandar has agreed to stop by our office. Of course, this is a spur for our enthusiasm to continue to make real contributions to the progress of the Indonesian halal industry. This is also a reminder for us to always straighten out our intentions, so that what we do can be in accordance with the initial purpose of establishing LPPOM, namely to provide peace for the people,” explained Muti Arintawati.

The spread of LPPOM in 34 provinces in Indonesia and more than 1,000 halal auditors are LPPOM’s efforts to facilitate business actors in carrying out halal certification. LPPOM, as the first LPH in Indonesia, is open to various parties and business actors in multiple forms of collaboration to encourage the progress of the halal industry in Indonesia. More than 50,000 business actors have been certified halal through LPPOM. If your business is not one of them, you can carry out halal certification through LPH LPPOM.
