The holy month of Ramadan serves as a meaningful moment to spread compassion and share kindness. Through the activity titled “Semangat Ramadhan, Berbagi Kebaikan Menuai Keberkahan” held on March 12, 2026, LPPOM Riau distributed 66 copies of the Qur’an (mushaf), 60 basic food packages, and 100 boxes of bottled drinking water to communities in Pekanbaru and its surrounding areas as a form of social care and commitment to delivering benefits to society.
Ramadan has always been a special time for Muslims to strengthen their عبادah (worship) while fostering social awareness. In this blessed month, values of togetherness, empathy, and the spirit of sharing become more prominent. Ramadan is not only about drawing closer to Allah SWT but also about creating meaningful impact for others.
This spirit was reflected by LPPOM Riau through its social initiative themed “Semangat Ramadhan, Berbagi Kebaikan Menuai Keberkahan.” The program represents LPPOM Riau’s commitment to making a tangible contribution to society, particularly during Ramadan, which is closely associated with compassion and solidarity.
In this initiative, LPPOM Riau distributed various forms of assistance to those in need. These included 66 copies of the Qur’an for huffadz at several Rumah Tahfiz Qur’an (RTQ) and Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPQ), 60 basic food packages for the underprivileged and dhuafa, and 100 boxes of bottled drinking water delivered to mosques and prayer rooms in Pekanbaru and nearby areas.
The distribution of aid is expected to bring happiness to recipients while adding blessings to their Ramadan worship. In addition to helping meet daily needs, the Qur’an donations are intended to support religious activities by increasing access to Qur’ans in mosques, prayer rooms, and learning centers within the community.
The Director of Halal Inspection Body (LPH) LPPOM Riau Province, Dr. Sofia Anita, M.Sc., stated that this sharing activity reflects gratitude and social responsibility toward the community.
“We, at Halal Inspection Body (LPH) LPPOM Riau, aim to continue being present and providing real contributions to those in need. We hope this assistance helps ease the community’s burdens and inspires all of us to continue spreading kindness and the spirit of sharing,” she said.
She explained that this Ramadan charity initiative has become an annual program conducted by LPPOM Riau. Through this program, the organization seeks to nurture a sense of togetherness and social care within society.
Furthermore, she emphasized that sharing during Ramadan not only benefits recipients but also strengthens humanitarian values among all parties involved.
“We hope this spirit of compassion continues and becomes part of a culture of sharing within society. God willing, we will further develop this program so that more people can experience the benefits and joy of giving,” she added.
For beneficiaries, the initiative brought meaningful happiness. One recipient of the food package, Mrs. Yuni, expressed her gratitude for the support provided by LPPOM Riau.
She shared that the assistance greatly helped her family meet their needs during Ramadan and provided renewed motivation amid life’s challenges.
“May this assistance bring blessings to all of us and encourage LPPOM Riau to continue growing and benefiting society. We also hope similar initiatives will continue sustainably in the future,” she said.
A similar sentiment was expressed by another beneficiary, Mrs. Rose Novita, who received a Qur’an copy. She expressed gratitude and hoped the Qur’an would be well utilized by the congregation.
According to her, additional Qur’ans are especially helpful for learning activities, particularly for elderly participants who regularly attend religious gatherings.
“Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful and feel greatly helped by this support. We thank LPPOM Riau for its care and attention to the community. May LPPOM Riau continue to grow and succeed, and may all its members be granted good health,” she said.
Through this initiative, LPPOM Riau hopes to continuously foster a spirit of social care within society. Sharing with others is not only a manifestation of humanitarian values but also a reflection of faith expressed through real actions.
LPPOM’s commitment to benefiting society is not limited to social activities. At the same time, the institution continues to contribute to strengthening the halal ecosystem in Indonesia.
One of the ongoing programs is Festival Syawal 1447 H, themed “Halal Raw Material Stores: The First Step Toward Resilient MSMEs.” This program supports government efforts to increase the number of halal-certified products in Indonesia.
Festival Syawal 1447 H features various activities, including free halal certification facilitation for halal raw material stores and halal awareness campaigns and education across different regions in Indonesia. The program aims to help Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) better understand the importance of using halal raw materials in their production processes.
With more halal-certified raw materials available, business actors can more easily maintain the halal integrity of their products. This also provides a sense of security and comfort for consumers when using halal products.
Through the blessed spirit of Ramadan, LPPOM Riau hopes that both its social initiatives and halal ecosystem development programs will continue to deliver real benefits to society.
