Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) caught the attention of the world community. Inevitably, this also affects business aspects, including in the halal certification process.
Even so, LPPOM MUI management is committed to being a partner in solving problems related to the halal certification process that arises as a result of the spread of this disease outbreak.
In response to this, LPPOM MUI has taken various actions. One of them is implementing work from home (WFH) for most employees. However, this does not close the halal certification service.
For face-to-face halal certification services, such as consultations, are routed entirely via email ([email protected]), WhatsApp (0811148696), and Call Center (14056).
LPPOM MUI has also implemented procedures for checking visitors, appealing to healthy living, and spraying disinfectants at the LPPOM MUI headquarters in Bogor (Global Halal Center) and Jakarta (Proklamasi).
The checking of visitors is carried out in the form of checking body temperature and flu symptoms, to the recording of the last 14 days. This is an effort to anticipate the spread of the virus in the LPPOM MUI office environment.
Related to halal certification audits carried out are ondesk and ondesk audits with additional checks on the implementation of the Halal Assurance System. The meetings or meetings relating to halal certification are conducted online (teleconference).
On the other hand, the session of the Fatwa Commission continues in accordance with the time determined online (teleconference). This effort was made to optimize halal certification services. (*)
