  • LPPOM, the Only Halal Inspection Body (LPH) to Receive the Micro Business Partner Award from the Ministry of MSMEs

LPPOM is the only Halal Inspection Body (LPH) to receive recognition as a micro business partner from the Ministry of MSMEs. This recognition confirms LPPOM’s role in strengthening MSME competitiveness through halal inspections and mentoring.

Its commitment to supporting the strengthening and empowerment of micro businesses has once again received state recognition. The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) presented awards to strategic micro business partners from various regions in Indonesia who are deemed to have consistently made significant contributions to building the foundation of the national economy. The awards ceremony was held on December 17, 2025, at the Menara Peninsula Hotel, Jakarta.

Among the recipients, LPPOM achieved significant recognition as the only Halal Inspection Body (LPH) to be recognized by the Ministry of MSMEs as a strategic micro business partner. This recognition emphasizes LPPOM’s role beyond merely halal inspection, serving as a partner for MSMEs in improving product quality, regulatory compliance, and sustainable business competitiveness.

Minister of MSMEs Maman Abdurrahman emphasized that this recognition serves as a form of legitimacy and validation for the concrete commitment of various parties who consistently support the empowerment of micro-entrepreneurs. He stated that micro-entrepreneurs are a crucial foundation of the national economy and must be continuously strengthened through cross-sector collaboration.

“This is our way of emphasizing that the state recognizes the contributions of various parties, appreciates them, and is grateful,” Minister Maman stated in his remarks.

As a halal inspection agency, LPPOM plays a strategic role in ensuring that MSME products meet recognized halal standards. Amid growing public awareness of halal products, halal certification is a crucial tool for building consumer trust and expanding market opportunities.

Through a credible inspection process and ongoing mentoring, LPPOM encourages MSMEs to meet these standards without losing the character and local wisdom of their products.

This appreciation from the Ministry of MSMEs also acknowledges LPPOM’s consistent support for MSMEs, particularly micro and small businesses, to advance their careers. LPPOM not only ensures the halal aspects of products, but also plays a role in educating business actors about the importance of a halal product assurance system as part of good business governance.

Moving forward, Minister Maman encouraged all strategic partners, particularly those from medium- and large-sized businesses, to continue strengthening partnerships in a mutually beneficial, sustainable supply chain. Solid collaboration is considered key to creating an inclusive and competitive business ecosystem.

“We must all strengthen each other, benefit each other, and ultimately achieve prosperity for all Indonesians,” he emphasized.

Minister Maman also considered this achievement a result of collaborative work and evidence of increasingly strong collaboration across ministries and institutions, regional governments, financing and guarantee institutions, associations, and universities. In fact, the Ministry of MSMEs involved various parties in the judging process for award recipients, demonstrating its commitment to transparency and objectivity.

“Collaboration is key to our shared success in managing and empowering MSMEs,” he said.

However, challenges in empowering micro-enterprises still require collective attention. Minister Maman highlighted the issues of financial literacy and access to People’s Business Credit (KUR), which many micro-entrepreneurs still face. He hopes that synergy between stakeholders can be further strengthened in the future to improve financial literacy among business actors and ensure more inclusive access to financing.

Meanwhile, Riza Damanik, Deputy for Micro Enterprises at the Ministry of MSMEs, stated that by the end of 2025, more than 27,000 micro-enterprises had established partnerships with small, medium, and large enterprises. These partnerships are an important indicator of the success of the MSME empowerment program, which directly increases business capacity.

“This partnership encourages micro-entrepreneurs to move up a level, marked by increased business capital, productivity, and an expanded partnership network,” said Riza.

As the only LPH to receive the Micro-Entrepreneurship Partner Award from the Ministry of MSMEs, LPPOM affirms its commitment to remain a strategic partner in building a resilient and competitive MSME ecosystem. One of its efforts is to open a discussion forum on halal certification through the Halal Certification Introduction (PSH) program, accessible at https://halalmui.org/pengenalan-sertifikasi-halal/. Going forward, LPPOM will continue to play an active role in ensuring credible, inclusive, and supportive halal inspections to advance micro and small businesses throughout Indonesia. (YN)
