SMAN 1 Pemali Raih Juara Umum Lomba Video Literasi Halal LPPOM Babel 2025

SMAN 1 Pemali won first place in the 2025 Halal Literacy Video Competition for Senior High Schools (SMA/SMK/MA) and equivalent schools, organized by the LPH LPPOM Babel. The award ceremony took place at the LPH LPPOM Bangka Belitung office. This event served as a crucial opportunity to strengthen halal literacy among the younger generation while simultaneously fostering awareness of the importance of halal products.

A lively and joyful atmosphere graced the appreciation and award ceremony for the 2025 Halal Literacy Video Competition at SMA/SMK/MA and equivalent schools, held on November 28, 2025, at the LPH LPPOM Bangka Belitung Province Office.

On this occasion, the award, consisting of a certificate and prize money, was presented directly by the Chairman of the MUI Babel, Prof. KH. Hatamar Rasyid, in the presence of MUI Babel officials. SMAN 1 Pemali won first place, followed by SMAN 1 Merawang in second place, and SMAN 1 Pangkalpinang in third place.

In his remarks, Prof. Hatamar emphasized that the Halal Certification Body (LPH LPPOM Babel) has an important mandate to ensure the halal status of products. He stated that halal literacy activities for high school students and their equivalents are strategic for expanding halal understanding from adolescence.

“Many people abroad actually prefer halal products because they believe they are clean and guaranteed. This proves that halal products are globally competitive. This advantage should motivate the younger generation to continue learning, understanding, and promoting halal values in their daily lives, so that the national halal ecosystem becomes stronger and more sustainable,” said Prof. Hatamar.

He also reminded that the halal obligation will be fully implemented in October 2026, requiring all food and beverage Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) products to be halal certified. He is also optimistic that competitions like this can be an effective educational tool and foster halal ambassadors from among Gen Z.

The Director of LPH LPPOM Babel, Muhammad Ihsan, stated that this year’s halal literacy video competition was participated in by around 12 schools, with the event taking place from September 1–10, 2025. The event was initiated as part of preparations for the mandatory halal certification on October 17, 2026, while also increasing students’ halal awareness.

“With increasing public awareness, LPH LPPOM Babel is ready to welcome the mandatory halal certification initiated by the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH). We are committed to continuing various educational programs, outreach, workshops, and technical guidance on an ongoing basis,” explained Ihsan.

The Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) and LPH LPPOM Babel hope that halal literacy activities like this can continue to be developed with increasingly innovative and engaging concepts. This way, halal education can reach all levels of society, from students to MSMEs.

“God willing, we will continue to run the halal education program with our partners, so that understanding of halal becomes more widespread and stronger in society,” concluded Ihsan.

LPH LPPOM Babel hopes that halal literacy can grow not only at the high school level, but also from an early age, from kindergarten to junior high school, so that Indonesia’s golden generation of 2045 will grow up with the awareness that halal products are the best, healthiest, and most reassuring.

On the same occasion, Rival, one of the winning team representatives from SMAN 1 Pemali, expressed his happiness and pride in their achievement. “We were initially informed about this competition only two days before the deadline. We worked until three in the morning to complete the video. Alhamdulillah, our hard work paid off with our first-place win,” explained Rival.

He hopes LPH LPPOM Babel will continue to hold similar competitions annually, as they are considered very beneficial for expanding knowledge and encouraging Gen Z’s enthusiasm to play a role in halal propaganda. One ongoing program is the Gen Halal Championship 2025. This program focuses on strengthening the role of the younger generation as halal ambassadors through various competitions, education, and coaching designed to increase their understanding of the importance of halal product assurance. Through these activities, participants not only learn to understand the halal aspects of a product but are also encouraged to become agents of change who actively spread halal values in their schools and communities. This program also demonstrates LPH LPPOM’s commitment to fostering a strong and sustainable halal ecosystem in Indonesia. (ZUL)
