The transformation of halal services positions BPJPH as a driving force for accelerating the national halal ecosystem. Within one year, the digital leap and various conveniences for MSEs led BPJPH to win several prestigious awards, confirming that halal service reform is now truly underway, inclusive, and has a broad impact on businesses throughout Indonesia.
The transformation of national halal services has entered a new, far more progressive phase. Within one year, the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) has become one of the most prominent government institutions through a series of innovations, accelerated services, and support for micro and small businesses.
According to the BPJPH’s official website, the agency won the Popular Indonesian Brand award at the 2025 Disway Awards and two prestigious awards at the 2025 Top Digital Awards. These consecutive achievements are proof that halal reform is truly underway and has a broad impact on society.
The Indonesian Popular Brand Award at the 2025 Disway Awards was presented directly to the Head of BPJPH, Ahmad Haikal Hasan, by national figure Dahlan Iskan. This recognition also signifies the high level of public trust in the changes to halal services over the past few years.
He stated that this appreciation not only reflects the institution’s internal success but also signals that the national halal ecosystem is moving more easily, quickly, and more in line with the needs of business actors. He emphasized that all of BPJPH’s halal service initiatives are rooted in the state’s mandate to expand economic access for the poor.
“President Prabowo’s directive is clear: the state must be present to protect and empower the poor. Therefore, we ensure that every simplification of halal services supports the public and the national halal industry ecosystem, especially the MSE sector, so that they can grow, be more productive, and be more competitive,” he said. For him, this commitment is not just a slogan, but the technical foundation for every policy and innovation BPJPH implements.
The transformation undertaken goes beyond improving administrative procedures. BPJPH views the acceleration of halal services as a strategic instrument in strengthening the competitiveness of the national industry. “A strong halal industry and MSMEs will strengthen the nation’s economy. Our task is to ensure that halal services serve as a bridge to increase our businesses’ competitiveness, both in the domestic market and in the global market, which continues to grow in economic potential,” said Haikal Hasan.
A flagship program that has received significant attention is the Free Halal Certification (SEHATI), which this year provided more than 1.14 million quotas for MSEs. Through the full digitization of the SIHALAL system, the application process has become much simpler, more transparent, and accessible 24/7. The impact is tangible: more than 10.5 million products have now been halal-certified, driven by the expansion of inspection agencies, supporting agencies, and halal human resources across various regions
BPJPH’s success was further emphasized by two Top Digital Awards 2025: Top Digital Implementation Level Five Stars, and Top Leader on Digital Implementation for the Head of BPJPH. These achievements were made possible by the modernization of SIHALAL, which is now powered by AI and blockchain technology.
“Digitalization is a regulatory mandate. The President emphasized the importance of transforming government services to be faster, more efficient, and more oriented towards public convenience. We translate this commitment through SIHALAL, which is now capable of processing up to 10,000 halal certifications per day,” said Haikal Hasan.
He added that the digital transformation undertaken by BPJPH represents a systemic leap rather than merely a complementary service. “Our digital transformation has made halal services easier, faster, and more accountable. The surge in registrations and the number of halal-certified products over the past year demonstrates that the public is feeling the benefits,” he emphasized. With a system that operates continuously and reaches all provinces, digitalization is now a key pillar in accelerating national halal services.
In line with BPJPH’s efforts to improve the quality of halal certification services, LPPOM’s efforts have also been recognized at a global awards event. LPPOM won the GIFA Championship Award 2025 in the Halal Certification category at the 15th Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) in Kuala Lumpur. This international award was accepted by LPPOM’s Corporate Secretary, Raafqi Ranasasmita, in the presence of world dignitaries, including Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
For LPPOM, this award strengthens its position as a globally recognized halal inspection agency. Raafqi emphasized that this achievement demonstrates the institution’s consistency in maintaining the integrity of halal certification.
“This achievement motivates us to continue providing fast, easy, and reliable halal certification services. Thank you to the Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI), BPJPH (Halal Product Assurance Agency), our clients, and the Indonesian people for their support,” he said. He added that strengthening the halal ecosystem is a collaborative effort, and LPPOM (The Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs, and Cosmetics) will continue to play a key role in it. The series of awards received by BPJPH and LPPOM demonstrates that Indonesia’s halal transformation is at its peak. With digital acceleration, a focus on MSEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), and strengthening the capacity of inspection bodies, the overall direction of the national halal ecosystem is now clearer: services that are more inclusive, modern, and globally competitive.
