Sambut Wajib Halal 2024 Bersama Program LPPOM Affiliates

The implementation of Mandatory Halal October (WHO) 2024 will soon enter the mandatory period. Business actors in the food and beverage sector who are subject to mandatory halal certification include raw materials, additional materials, slaughtering services, slaughter results and auxiliary materials in the food and beverage industry, including logistics services.

LPPOM is massively conducting socialization with business actors. This is to spark awareness of business actors to immediately register for halal certification and understand the halal certificates that will be obtained. One of them is what LPPOM is doing today by conducting technical guidance. The President Director of LPPOM, Ir. Muti Arintawati M.Si. conveyed this in training with the theme “Technical Guidance for Halal Certification” held by LPPOM on June 20, 2024.

“With this training, it is hoped that business actors can gain understanding and provide convenience when business actors carry out halal certification. Hopefully, this effort can have a significant impact on business actors, so that business actors who register for halal certification can increase and the WHO 2024 government program can be achieved,” said Muti.

According to the Head of the Halal Registration and Certification Centre of the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH), Hj. Siti Aminah, M.Pd.I., awareness of local food and beverage business actors regarding halal certification is still lacking. In contrast, business actors from foreign food and beverage products have a high level of concern for halal certification. This is still an obstacle to the implementation of the Mandatory Halal October (WHO) 2024.

“The existence of this regulation can guarantee that the public gets halal products. Bai, for example, can be reduced to various types of ingredients that can be used in the food and beverage industry in everyday products,” said Aminah.

She said that halal certification can also make business actors’ businesses grow and be able to enter the global market. She also noted that LPPOM has a good program for business actors who want to carry out halal certification. In addition, Cucu Rina Purwaningrum, S.TP, MP., as Marketing & Networking Manager of LPPOM, explained that the LPPOM Affiliate Program is one of LPPOM’s programs that invites halal activists to work together to provide recommendations to business actors to obtain BPJPH halal certificates by choosing LPH LPPOM.

“LPPOM Affiliate provides assistance to business actors, conveys the best experience of halal certification services through LPPOM and recommends it. LPPOM Affiliate also submits business actor data to LPPOM. LPPOM processes product halal examinations and LPPOM Affiliate gets rewards,” explained Cucu.

On the same occasion, LPPOM Network Management Officer Andriawan Subekti, S.Si., M.Si said that the halal policy is a form of written commitment from business actors to produce halal products consistently, which is determined in accordance with the company’s business processes and disseminated to interested parties.

He emphasized that the company’s top management is committed to providing competent resources and establishing a halal management team and a qualified team that understands the halal certification criteria procedures. Raw materials need to be selected whether they are included in the positive list stated in KMA 1360/2021. Raw materials that are not included in KMA 1360/2021 must be equipped with the MUI Halal Decree and BPJPH Halal Certificate. Then, imported materials are also equipped with halal certificates from the Overseas Halal Certification Body (LSHLN). Although not all business actors have the same awareness of the importance of the existence of halal certificates as a guarantee of the halalness of their products, there are already many food and beverage products that are halal-certified in Indonesia. LPPOM provides a halal product checking platform on the website www.halalmui.org and the MUI Halal application that can be downloaded on the Playstore. LPPOM also periodically offers free halal certification for small and micro businesses (SMEs) as a form of support for SMEs. (ZUL)
