The groundbreaking for the new building for the Bangka Belitung Province LPH LPPOM marked a significant milestone in strengthening halal services in the archipelago. This milestone goes beyond mere physical construction; it represents LPH LPPOM Babel’s commitment to providing a trusted, professional, and synergistic service centre to reach a wider audience, from MSMEs to large industries.Â
The Halal Inspection Body (LPH) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province (LPPOM Babel) has taken a strategic and meaningful step with the commencement of construction on its new office building on Jl. Kampung Melayu, Gerunggang, Pangkalpinang. The groundbreaking, held on July 12, 2025, was not merely a ceremonial event but also a symbol of a deep commitment to strengthening halal certification services in Bumi Serumpun Sebalai.
In his remarks, Muhammad Ihsan, S.T.P., M.Si., Director of the LPH LPPOM Babel, expressed high hopes for the new building as a trustworthy halal service centre, open to synergy, and oriented towards strengthening a healthy and high-quality halal ecosystem.
“God willing, this building will be a trustworthy place to carry out our duties. We are open to synergy, whether from the government, institutions, or the community, to create a healthy and high-quality halal ecosystem,” Ihsan stated confidently.
The construction of this building follows up on the mandate of the 2025 LPPOM National Working Meeting, which encouraged institutional strengthening throughout the region. For LPH LPPOM Babel, this is concrete evidence of their commitment to strengthening their service structure, not only physically but also in terms of values and integrity.
LPH LPPOM Babel’s achievements are indeed noteworthy. This institution has actively organized various events and is listed as a facilitator with the most significant number of halal milling service providers, thanks to its close synergy with the Bank Indonesia Bangka Belitung Representative Office. Milling services are a highly strategic sector in determining the sustainability of the halal certification process for processed meat products.
The solemn groundbreaking ceremony was attended by several important figures, including the Chairman of the Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) of Bangka Belitung, Prof. Dr. KH. Hatamar Rasyid, M.Ag., and a representative from the Bangka Belitung Provincial Government, namely Adriansyah, Head of Construction Services at the Public Works and Public Housing Agency.
Prof. Hatamar Rasyid emphasized that the construction of the LPPOM building is not just a building, but rather a manifestation of responsibility to provide a sense of security and confidence for Muslims when consuming halal products.
“This building is not just a building, but a symbol of the guarantee of the halal status of products consumed by the public. This is where the halal assessment, audit, and certification processes are carried out according to clear standards,” he emphasized.
Similarly, Adriansyah expressed the full support of the Bangka Belitung Provincial Government for this construction process. He conveyed the PUPR Agency’s readiness to assist with future project evaluation and monitoring.
“We believe that the presence of the LPPOM building will have a positive impact on public services, particularly in the halal product sector,” he said.
With the commencement of construction of this building, LPH LPPOM Babel aims to address the needs of the public and business actors for more representative, professional, and strategic halal services. This facility aims to become a halal development centre capable of serving more MSMEs and large industries across the archipelago.
The event, which began with a collective prayer and remarks from prominent figures, concluded with a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony and the submission of a construction proposal. All attendees expressed their gratitude and hoped that the construction would proceed smoothly and bring blessings.
LPH LPPOM Babel also invited the public to contribute to this development through donations or other forms of support. The committee hopes that this building will not only stand firm physically, but also become a pillar of good values that continue to grow within the community.
