To support the provision of halal meat, LPPOM Babel held the 1446H Syawal Festival to provide education and facilitate BPJPH halal certification for meat grinding businesses. This is a form of commitment and seriousness of LPPOM Babel to support MSMEs in being more competitive and fulfilling mandatory halal regulations quickly and easily.
LPPOM Bangka Belitung Province (Babel) is again educating the public regarding the importance of halal certification. As part of the 1446 Hijriah Syawal Festival, “Strengthening from Upstream through Halal Meat Grinding,” LPPOM Babel held a socialization for micro and small business actors (MSMEs) in meat grinding services on April 23, 2025, at the Babel Provincial Governor’s Office.
The President Director of LPPOM, Muti Arintawati, explained that a major challenge in the halal certification process arises when upstream products are not guaranteed to be halal. For example, halal meat is processed by cutting and grinding meat without proper halal certification.
“The meat grinding process has a significant impact on MSMEs that rely on ground meat as a raw material for their products, such as meatballs. However, not all meatball traders have their own grinding facilities. This can be a big risk, because uncontrolled general meat grinders can accept various types of meat, so they have the potential to mix halal meat with non-halal meat,” explained Muti.
Her party is committed to ensuring that all meat grinders in Bangka Belitung are service providers that can guarantee halalness for MSMEs that use them. Not only just fulfilling government regulations, the most important thing is to provide a sense of security to Muslim consumers by ensuring that the products produced by MSMEs are truly guaranteed to be halal.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bank Indonesia (BI) Bangka Belitung Representative Office, Rommy Sariu Tamawiwy, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration in facilitating halal certification for meat grinders. According to him, this initiative not only supports mandatory halal policies but also becomes a strategic step in encouraging the economic growth of MSMEs in Bangka Belitung.
“This is a big step that we are taking together as a form of real synergy between institutions in supporting MSMEs to move up a class, expand market access, and increase the competitiveness of Bangka Belitung halal products on the national and even global stage,” said Rommy.
On the same occasion, Muhammad Ihsan was inaugurated as Director of LPPOM Babel for the 2025-2030 term. Muti said that managing the LPPOM representative office in Bangka Belitung is not easy, so the mandate given is not light. With high commitment and discipline in the future, we can continue to improve the performance of LPPOM Babel, which has been quite good so far.
Muti added that the position of Director is not just a title but a big mandate that demands high responsibility and dedication. Armed with strong commitment and consistent discipline, Muti is optimistic that under the new leadership, the performance of LPPOM Babel, which has been running well so far, will continue to improve and bring a wider positive impact.
LPPOM continues to be committed to providing benefits for the people’s peace. One of the programs currently underway is the Syawal Festival. This program focuses on facilitating halal certification for Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK) as a form of LPPOM’s commitment to continue supporting the government in increasing the number of halal products. In the future, halal products are expected to develop nationally and globally, thus creating peace for the people who consume halal products. (ZUL)
