Perkuat Daya Saing UKM, LPH LPPOM Jateng bersama Dinas Koperasi dan UKM Jateng Gelar Bimtek Sertifikasi Halal

Ahead of the Mandatory Halal October (WHO) 2026, the Halal Inspection Body (LPH) of LPPOM Central Java together with the Central Java Office of Cooperatives and MSMEs facilitated MSMEs through Technical Guidance (Bimtek) on halal certification. This effort aims to strengthen competitiveness while also preparing business actors to comply with upcoming regulations.

Efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs in Central Java continue as the implementation of mandatory halal certification in October 2026 approaches. Halal certification is now viewed not only as a regulatory obligation but also as an important strategy to improve product quality, expand market access, and build consumer trust.

As part of this commitment, the Halal Inspection Body (LPH) of LPPOM Central Java collaborated with the Central Java Provincial Office of Cooperatives and MSMEs to organize Technical Guidance on Preparation for the Halal Product Assurance System Audit (SJPH) on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Gatotkaca Room, Central Java Provincial Office of Cooperatives and MSMEs. This activity served as the initial stage of halal certification facilitation for 90 assisted MSMEs spread across various regencies and cities in Central Java.

The Head of the Central Java Provincial Office of Cooperatives and MSMEs, Eddy Sulistiyo Bramianto, SE, M.M., in his remarks emphasized the importance of halal certification as part of the strategy to strengthen MSMEs. He encouraged business actors to take advantage of the halal certification momentum to increase revenue and expand product marketing reach. With halal certification, MSME products are expected to be more easily accepted in broader markets, both nationally and globally, thereby directly contributing to the improvement of the economic performance of assisted MSMEs in Central Java.

The Halal Inspection Body (LPH) of LPPOM Central Java, as a strategic partner in the halal certification process, plays an active role in providing technical assistance to business actors. Through this Technical Guidance, participants were equipped with an understanding of the mandatory halal certification regulations and the criteria of the Halal Assurance System (HAS), including the management of materials and production processes, as well as the readiness of documents required in the audit process. This approach aims to ensure that MSME actors are not only ready to face the audit but are also able to maintain the consistency of the Halal Assurance System (HAS) in their daily business activities.

The Director of the Halal Inspection Body (LPH) of LPPOM Central Java, Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Rofiq, MA, in a motivational session invited business actors to view halal certification as part of ethics and values in conducting business. He also highlighted the example of the successful Muslim entrepreneur Siti Khadijah, which was particularly relevant as most of the Technical Guidance participants were women entrepreneurs.

“Siti Khadijah is an example of an intelligent, diligent, and compassionate entrepreneur. As a successful businesswoman, she did not only focus on her business but also did not forget to allocate part of her wealth for charity,” said Prof. Ahmad Rofiq.

The message emphasized that business success is not only measured by economic achievements but also by integrity, perseverance, and social responsibility. These values align with halal principles that emphasize aspects of permissibility, blessings, and responsibility in every business process.

During the activity, participants showed high enthusiasm and expressed their commitment to comply with all provisions set by the Halal Inspection Body (LPH) of LPPOM Central Java. In the final session of the Technical Guidance, the Halal Inspection Body (LPH) of LPPOM Central Java also assigned preparatory tasks to business actors as an initial step toward the halal certification audit. Proper preparation is considered a key factor to ensure that the certification process can run more quickly and effectively.

Through the collaboration between the Halal Inspection Body (LPH) of LPPOM Central Java and the Central Java Provincial Office of Cooperatives and MSMEs, MSMEs in Central Java are expected to be better prepared to face the Mandatory Halal October (WHO) 2026 era. More than that, halal certification is expected to become a driving force for MSME competitiveness so that local products not only meet standards but also possess strong added value in the eyes of consumers and increasingly broader markets.
