Ramadan is the right time for all parties to reflect and improve themselves on the journey that has been passed during the previous months. For LPH LPPOM, this moment is also used to strengthen ties and build stronger togetherness.
In the midst of the gentle breeze after Ramadan, more than 200 LPPOM personnel gathered at the Halal bi Halal 1446 Hijriah event on April 20, 2025, in Bogor. Employees, halal auditors, the board of directors, and guests from the Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) united in this special moment, proving that friendship is a golden thread that knits togetherness and the spirit of struggle of an institution.
Ramadhan, as conveyed by the President Director of LPPOM, Ir. Muti Arintawati, M.Si., is a time for reflection and strengthening steps forward. In her speech, Muti said that this event is not just an annual tradition but a medium to strengthen the spirit and solidarity amidst the great challenges currently being faced by the institution.
“Hopefully all the goodness and achievements in the blessed month of Ramadan will ignite the spirit to continue moving forward and be able to unite the goals of this institution. Thus, hopefully we can continue to be consistent in our one goal since the beginning of LPPOM’s establishment, namely, to calm the people,” she said with full hope.
Along with the dynamics of halal regulations in Indonesia, including implementing the Halal Product Assurance Act (UU JPH) and its derivative regulations, Muti emphasized the importance of collective spirit in responding to these various challenges. For LPPOM, maintaining the people’s peace through halal inspection services is a primary mandate that must not waver.
The presence of the Deputy Chairman of MUI, Dr. H. Anwar Abbas, M.M., M.Ag., further enriched the spiritual value of this event. In his sermon, Anwar emphasized the meaning of true victory achieved after Ramadan. “The victory is not only about holding back hunger and thirst, but also about success in controlling oneself, improving morals, and strengthening faith and piety,” he said.
He also emphasized that fasting increases a person’s spiritual connection with Allah SWT. The communication built through this worship is expected to form LPPOM individuals who are stronger in facing various challenges in the future.
This event was also attended by important figures from MUI, such as Drs. K.H. Sholahuddin Al Aiyub, M.Si. (Chairman of MUI for Sharia Economics and Halal), Dr. Ir. H. Lukmanul Hakim, M.Si. (Chairman of the MUI Waqf Institution), and Dr. H. Rofiqul Umam Ahmad, S.H., M.H. (Deputy Secretary General of MUI) were present to support and strengthen the spirit of togetherness.
Not only stopping at Halal bi Halal, but LPPOM also continues to show its commitment to spreading wider benefits. Through the Syawal 1446 H Festival program, LPPOM actively facilitates free halal certification for Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK), especially in the meat grinding sector. By raising the theme “Strengthening Halal from Upstream through Halal Meat Grinding”, this program not only targets the number of halal products but also targets increasing public awareness and understanding of the importance of a proper halal chain from the early stages of production.
This step aligns with LPPOM’s mission to continue supporting BPJPH and government policies to make Indonesia the world’s halal industry centre. Halal education is also encouraged evenly throughout Indonesia, creating a strong foundation for developing a sustainable and globally competitive halal industry.
In the embrace of togetherness and the spirit of Ramadhan that is still felt, this year’s LPPOM Halal bi Halal event is more than just a gathering event. It embodies a shared determination: one goal, one victory – for the peace of the people and a brighter future for Indonesian halal. (ZUL)
