LPPOM Bersama IDF MUI dan Dompet Dhuafa Fasilitasi Sertifikasi Halal UMK di 15 Provinsi

LPPOM, in collaboration with the Islamic Dakwah Fund of the Indonesian Council of Ulama (IDF MUI) and support from Dompet Dhuafa, provided 100 halal certifications to micro and small business actors (MSMEs) in 15 provinces in Indonesia.

The first phase of the obligation to halal certification for food products, beverages, slaughtered products and slaughtering services began on October 17, 2019, and will end on October 17, 2024. However, for MSMEs, the Government has decided to postpone the mandatory halal certification for food and beverage products until 2026. The President Director of LPPOM, Ir. Muti Arintawati M.Si., conveyed this in the socialization and technical guidance for facilitating halal certification held on June 28, 2024, at the Global Halal Centre (GHC) Building, Bogor City.

“Halal certificate is not just a piece of paper, but it is a responsibility towards the halalness of the product, because halal is an obligation to meet the needs of the community. Hopefully, this activity can help the government in encouraging halal certification, LPPOM is ready to accompany and help,” said Muti.

The Chairman of IDF MUI, H. Misbahul Ulum, M.Si., on this occasion, expressed his gratitude for the implementation of the halal certification activity called Strengthening Micro and Medium Enterprises or “PUSAKA”. Business actors are not only given halal certification facilities (including free halal certification) but are also given socialization and assistance.

“This activity aims to improve the economy for MSME actors. In this case, to strengthen them so that the market can better accept them. So, it can increase the value of MSME products. Hopefully, this collaboration will continue so that it can help business actors to carry out halal certification,” said Misbah.

On the same occasion, Secretary of the Yayasan Wirausaha Indonesia Berdaya Dompet Dhuafa, Udhi Tri Kurniawan, said that the good cooperation between Dompet Dhuafa, IDF MUI and LPPOM has a positive impact on society, one of which is MSME actors who need to be strengthened with the halal certification program in order to meet consumer expectations and produce quality products.

“The context of healthy, halal, we must encourage. This is not only about halal food, but we also continue to encourage MSMEs to improve their quality, and hopefully, they can grow and develop further; we hope that what we do today will make MSME actors’ businesses grow and develop,” explained Udhi.

In addition, Purwono, S.IP., as the Regional Development Project Leader of LPPOM, explained that in order to fulfil the rights of Muslims to obtain halal products, the food and beverages produced must be halal certified. With a halal certificate, turnover and income can increase because consumers do not hesitate to buy halal-certified products. Free halal certification assistance will help accelerate the halal ecosystem.

Hardi Kurnia, S.TP., as the Halal Auditor Management Officer, emphasized that business actors who want to register for halal certification only need to prepare seven documents, namely:

  1. Application letter for registration of business actors or companies
  2. Registration form
  3. Legal aspects such as complete Risk-Based NIB along with attachments that include the KBLI code (updated in the OSS system)
  4. Halal Supervisor Document (Muslim)
  5. Matrix and list of materials
  6. Product processing diagram
  7. SJPH manual that an authorized official has approved

According to Hardi, obtaining a halal certificate is not difficult if business actors can meet the halal certification requirements and have the will and determination to get it. Currently, LPPOM with 35 years of experience and the support of more than 1,000 expert auditors, continues to synergize with various parties to realize the halal obligations determined by the government. In addition, business actors can also learn more about the halal certification process and flow by attending the halal certification introduction class (PSH) with LPPOM by registering at the link https://halalmui.org/pengenalan-sertifikasi-halal/. LPPOM provides a halal product check platform on the website www.halalmui.org and the Halal MUI application which can be downloaded on Playstore. In addition, LPPOM also offers various services such as laboratory testing services for food safety. Good luck. (ZUL)
