Berikan Cita Rasa Lidah Indonesia, Ramen Yuk! Juga Kini Bersertifikat Halal

Ramen Yuk! obtained a halal certificate last May through an inspection by LPH LPPOM. This step was taken as an effort to improve the quality and quality of service to customers.

PT Yay Enak Semua has pocketed a halal certificate with certificate number ID00410017443340324 which was issued on May 13, 2024, from the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH), which is specifically intended for the Ramen Yuk! brand. LPPOM was chosen as the Halal Inspection Body (LPH) that carries out all halal inspections of Ramen Yuk! products.

Symbolic handover of the halal logo by the Head of the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH), M. Aqil Irham, to the COO of Yay! Group, Wilson Tjandra and witnessed by Sugiarto as the representative of LPPOM management was held on July 11, 2024 at Ramen Yuk! Cipondoh, Tangerang, Banten. On this occasion, the three of them also joined an interesting talk show regarding the brand and halalness of Ramen Yuk!.

COO Yay! Group, Wilson Tjandra explained that this ramen brand serves “local ramen” that is halal, affordable, and in accordance with the taste preferences of the Indonesian people. The taste is distinctive, a blend of Japanese ramen flavours combined with the taste of the Indonesian tongue. The delicious taste attracts many visitors from various circles, from school children to parents.

“Ramen is a typical Japanese dish that is widely known and familiar among the Indonesian people. However, the price of ramen that is generally available makes it limited to certain circles only. This is what we are trying to redefine through Ramen Yuk!. Through the spirit of ‘Ramen Rakyat Indonesia’, we present ramen as a quality dish that is easily accessible to various groups of people,” he explained.

In addition to taste, customer service is one thing that is a priority for Ramen Yuk!. Therefore, Wilson Tjandra emphasized the importance of halal certification for its products. This step was taken as an effort to improve the quality and quality of service to customers, especially in countries with the largest Muslim population in the world. With this halal certification, Ramen Yuk! ensures that all products served meet halal standards, providing a sense of security and comfort for all customers.

Sugiarto, as the representative of LPPOM management, appreciated the commitment and efforts of the Ramen Yuk! team in obtaining halal certification. According to him, this could not have been achieved without all the dedication and hard work from the management and the entire company team to continue to maintain the consistency of the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH) that has been implemented. “With halal certification, it means that Ramen Yuk! fulfills two things. First, compliance with the mandatory halal certification regulations in Indonesia. Second, fulfilling consumer rights, because halal for Muslim consumers is a right that producers must fulfil. We are also grateful that LPPOM was chosen as the LPH partner to check the halalness of Ramen Yuk!,” he said.

Furthermore, Sugiarto explained that it is not the ingredients, facilities, and production processes that are free from impurities and haram that are considered in the halal certification process. Halal-certified outlets or restaurants must also fulfil commitments and implement certain rules to avoid contamination of impurities, such as prohibiting consumers from bringing pets and food/drinks from outside the restaurant.

In addition, there is also a connection with the brand/product name must not use a name that refers to something that is forbidden or worship that is not in accordance with Islamic law. In addition, the characteristics/sensory profile of the product must not have a tendency for aroma or taste that refers to haram products or those that have been declared haram based on the MUI fatwa. This is in accordance with the MUI Fatwa Fatwa No. 4 of 2003 concerning Halal Fatwa Standardization.

With the halal certificate, the Head of BPJPH, M. Aqil Irham, is optimistic that it will increase consumer confidence. Added value is not only from the aspect of taste and price but also from the halal side. “Based on the results of a study taken from respondents with different income levels. The first consideration for consumers to buy a product is the halalness of the product, then the taste, and thirdly the price. If it is halal, tastes good, the price is affordable, of course consumers will attract more consumers,” he explained.

Halal certification, said Aqil, is also a form of Ramen Yuk! in fulfilling regulations in Indonesia. That way, in October 2024, this brand will not be subject to sanctions for the regulation. As we all know, the government has imposed mandatory halal certification for all products circulating in Indonesia. The closest stage applies to food and beverage products. This is in accordance with the mandate of Act No. 6 of 2023, which is a derivative of Act No. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance (UU JPH).

Even so, you don’t need to worry. Currently, there are many different brands of ramen available with various price variations. You can check the halalness of a particular ramen brand through the halal product check platform on the website www.halalmui.org or the Halal MUI application which can be downloaded on the Playstore.
