The pandemic is over, and various exhibitions are back offline. Various industry players have awaited this condition. One of the most awaited exhibitions by the halal industry players is the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS). The performance, attended by thousands of business actors from 43 countries, is undoubtedly a magnet for business actors to expand their market reach.
Reluctant to pass on this opportunity, the Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs, and Cosmetics of the Indonesian Council of Ulama (LPPOM MUI), together with several producers from Indonesia in the Indonesia Pavilion, participated in the exhibition. This event was held from 7th-10th September 2022 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The presence of LPPOM MUI is nothing but to facilitate producers from Malaysia who wants to carry out halal certification.
The International Halal Partnership Manager of LPPOM MUI, Ratna Mustika, said that most visitors came from neighboring countries whose products entered the Indonesian market. Then there are distributors, marketplace platforms, business associations, consultants, and training institutions discussing halal certification. At the end of the exhibition, ministries from several countries, such as the United States Department of Agriculture and Mr. Salleh Adnan from the Ministry of Entrepreneurial and Cooperative Development (Malaysia), were also present to visit the LPPOM MUI booth.
In addition to a comprehensive explanation, the HAS 23000 book, which covers the requirements for halal certification, is a unique attraction. “The HAS 23000 book has come to the attention of Hermono, the LBBP Ambassador and Malaysian Trade Attaché, Deden Muhammad Fajar Siddiq. From the discussion results, of course, LPPOM MUI is ready to support government programs in exporting Indonesian products abroad through halal certification,” explained Ratna.
During the exhibition, LPPOM MUI with Halal Vietnam Certification Service Company Limited (HVCS) also had the opportunity to sign a collaboration. The signing was held at the LPPOM MUI booth at the MIHAS exhibition on Saturday, September 10, 2022. With this, companies from Vietnam are expected to get access to information related to the halal certification process in more detail to facilitate the halal certification process.
LPPOM MUI received various appreciations from booth visitors. “We were lucky to meet LPPOM MUI at MIHAS 2022,” Ms. Moon from Swizzle Food Industries Sdn Bhd. Different other preferences, “The HAS 23000 halal certification requirements are apparent,”; “The output of MUI halal certification is excellent because it can be accepted in various countries,”; and “World-famous MUI halal certification.” (IRE/YN)
