For the food and beverage industry, halal certification has become commonplace. However, this is different with the pharmaceutical industry. Halal certification for the pharmaceutical industry is a challenge in itself. On that basis, it needs confidence and education to strengthen business actors in the pharmaceutical industry to carry out halal certification at LPPOM MUI.

The growth of halal certification for the pharmaceutical industry is still below the average growth rate for other product groups. As of February 2021, the number of halal certified pharmaceutical groups (drugs and vaccines) was 2,586 products. Compared to all halal certified products, namely 575,560 products from all groups, the pharmaceutical group only occupies 0.5%.

On the other hand, the spread of COVID 19 cases has also increased public awareness to maintain health. Various medicines and supplements are growing. Is this growth accompanied by the number of drugs that have been certified halal? Is it still worth it for us to protect against medicine’s emergency status? To what extent has the government tried to protect its people from drugs whose halal status is not clear?

This will be thoroughly reviewed in the webinar “Emergency Status of Halal Medicine, How Long is it?” on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 virtually, 09.00-12.00 WIB. The speakers are attended:
