The Halal Inspection Body (LPH LPPOM) urges all business owners and the public to increase their vigilance against the increasing number of fraudulent attempts using the name of Halal Certification (SH) payment processes. The currently identified fraudulent method involves irresponsible parties sending Halal Certification payment billing codes to clients via messaging apps, such as WhatsApp.
LPH LPPOM emphasizes that all Halal Certification payments are made only through official mechanisms and accounts designated by the relevant authorities. Therefore, clients and business owners are advised not to make payments if they receive suspicious messages immediately and to always verify and confirm the authenticity of the information through official channels.
As a preventive measure, the Halal Inspection Body (LPH LPPOM) encourages business owners to cross-check the messages and billing codes received with the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) and the Halal Inspection Body (LPH LPPOM) to ensure their validity. Internal communication with the halal management team at each company also needs to be strengthened, including seeking clarification through the assigned auditor or the official channels of LPH, LPPOM, and BPJPH.
