Got a hobby of watching films at the cinema? Of course, it feels incomplete to watch at the cinema without a snack or beverage, like popcorn or coffee. But, what if the halal of the food and beverages we bought at the cinema’s restaurant is still unclear? Perhaps the watching activity that was supposed to be for fun became hesitant instead.
Now you don’t have to worry anymore. Cinépolis, the leading international cinema chain, received the halal certificate from the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Body (BPJPH) with the number ID00410020176621024 on October 10th, 2024. The halal inspection is done by The Assessment Institute of Foods, Drugs, and Cosmetics (LPPOM) Halal Inspection Body (LPH).

After that, this regulation will be fully applied; thus, the company that does not fulfill it will be subject to sanctions.
To fulfill the requirements of halal certification, the company must fulfill the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH) set of criteria. It includes the raw material procedures, facility to the halal management team so that everything can be traced very well. This is quickly fulfilled by Cinépolis because the company already has centralized rules that are easier to enforce. For the surveillance, Muti emphasized that every party has a contribution, whether it’s a
company, the government, to the public as the consumers.
“The company must have a halal supervisor that passes the competency test, this as the controls and surveillance in the internal of the company. Even so, surveillance is not only the responsibility of the government, but the consumers also have the contribution to supervising the circulated halal products,” she explained.
