Jakarta – The H20 Forum, held on 17-20 November 2023 at JIEXPO, Jakarta, has officially closed. Head of the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH), Muhammad Aqil Irham, said that the H20 event entitled Halal World 2023 had resulted in a number of important agreements for strengthening the international halal ecosystem.
“Alhamdulillah, the 2023 H20 event was successfully held, as a strategic forum for creating a global halal ecosystem, which at the opening of the event was attended by more than 1,500 people, and resulted in a number of important agreements in the context of strengthening the global halal ecosystem,” said Aqil in Jakarta (21/11 ).
Furthermore, Aqil said that H20 was also a forum for intensive discussion in realizing global halal standards and establishing universal ones, as outlined in the H20 Communiqué. In this case, the forum agreed that efforts were needed to understand Fiqh and social and cultural differences.
He emphasized that the halal ecosystem is about products and creating a harmonious environment that respects and upholds halal principles. As part of the H20 series, Halal Expo and Business Matching were also carried out to help open opportunities for business tenants to promote Indonesian halal products so that they can be marketed internationally.
The Halal Inspection Body (LPH) LPPOM MUI participated actively, with a delegation led by Sumunar Jati as Director of Strategy and Operations. He considers LPPOM MUI’s participation very strategic as one of Indonesia’s pioneers of halal certification to establish communication and continue learning with various parties involved in the global halal ecosystem.
“LPH LPPOM MUI is committed to contributing to the success of the government’s mandatory halal program, especially for the closest category, namely food and beverages in October 2024. Our involvement in every halal forum is a form of our commitment to work together with various relevant stakeholders, especially BPJPH as the regulator,” concluded Jati.
LPPOM MUI’s participation in this event is strategic as one of Indonesia’s pioneers of halal certification. It is done to establish communication and continue learning with various parties involved in the global halal ecosystem.
In addition, his party admitted that it was always open to institutions, state-owned companies, the private sector and other stakeholders who wanted to collaborate with LPPOM MUI. This is proven by the various activities carried out synergistically with various stakeholders. In 2022, only in the halal certification facilitation program will LPPOM MUI collaborate with 147 stakeholders at the national and regional levels. To encourage Indonesia’s role in realizing a global halal ecosystem, LPPOM MUI has prepared itself in various ways. From auditors with special competencies totaling more than 1,000 auditors, the broadest reach in 34 provincial capitals and four overseas representative offices (China, Korea, Taiwan); implementing the CEROL-SS23000 online system; and obtaining various accreditations and recognition abroad.
