Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) is an acute respiratory infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This relatively new virus has never been identified in humans before. This virus was first reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019.
COVID-19 can spread through droplets or small particles of saliva released when coughing / sneezing. A healthy person can be infected with COVID-19 if the patient’s droplet is positive about the eyes, nose, and mouth.
Unfortunately, until now there has been no cure or vaccine for COVID-19. Therefore, what the community can do is implement preventive measures. dr. M. Riedha, BMedSc, MSc from Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) said that there are 10 actions that can be taken to prevent themselves and their families from COVID-19, namely:
- Eat nutritiously balanced, halal, and thayyib foods.
- Use a mask.
- Exercise diligently and get enough rest.
- Keep the environment clean.
- Wash your hands with soap.
- Do not smoke.
- Drink 8 glasses of mineral water per day.
- If fever and shortness of breath, check with a health facility immediately.
- Eating foods that are cooked perfectly. Don’t eat meat and animals that have the potential to transmit.
- Don’t forget to pray.
“Apply this to yourself. And, make this a habit in your family. That way, you and your family will not only avoid COVID-19, but also viruses and other bacterial diseases, “explained Riedha.
In this connection, the Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs and Cosmetics Indonesian Council of Ulama (LPPOM MUI) has taken several precautions for visitors and employees.
